Senior Software Engineer

GE HealthCare seeks an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design and maintain embedded software for medical device sensors in Helsinki. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop real-time processing components while ensuring regulatory compliance for hospital equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software for hardware control, sensor data processing, drivers, and communication protocols
• Develop and maintain automated tests primarily on Windows and Linux-based environments
• Apply medical device standards and security practices throughout the software development lifecycle
• Perform functional and performance testing, troubleshooting, and debugging on target hardware
• Collaborate with hardware, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end development tasks

Requirements

• Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, or related field
• 10+ years of product software development experience using Agile/Lean methodologies
• Strong C++ proficiency with deep object-oriented design and design patterns knowledge
• Experience with Git version control, code review tools, and continuous integration systems
• Hands-on embedded systems debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and electrical measurement tools
• Test automation development and execution in Python 3 on target hardware
• Fluency in English, written and spoken; authorized to work in Finland
